About Us

community thinking CIC is a Wales-based social enterprise that helps communities and organisations turn local ideas into practical, sustainable action. We work as a not-for-profit consultancy alongside community groups, voluntary and faith organisations, social enterprises and public-sector bodies, acting as a critical friend - working with people to think clearly, plan well and make informed decisions that strengthen communities. At the heart of our work is asset based community development and co-production. We believe communities are experts in their own lives, and we focus on listening, sharing skills and building confidence so that local voices, especially those that are seldom heard shape decisions and outcomes. We operate on a consultancy model, earning income through commissioned work, and as a Community Interest Company any surplus is reinvested to strengthen our organisation, subsidise work with under-resourced communities, and develop tools and learning for the wider third sector. Our aim is to work alongside people so communities are better equipped to shape their own futures.
